Alex Umansky, Esq.
Alex Umansky is an experienced litigator, trial lawyer and counselor, with a focus in labor and employment law, commercial litigation, insurance coverage disputes, and premises liability issues. Alex’s labor & employment experience includes representation of individuals and employers in all aspects of employment-related transactions and litigation, and advising clients on day-to-day workplace issues, including discrimination and workplace harassment, wage and hour compliance, covenants not to compete or solicit, claims for breach of contract, duty of loyalty, and fiduciary duty.
Alex regularly conducts management and employee training programs, prepares and reviews employee handbooks, personnel policies, and disciplinary documents while utilizing proactive, practical strategies for legal compliance.
Alex has also devoted a significant portion of his practice to commercial litigation and insurance coverage disputes by advising clients on insurance coverage issues, policy interpretation, risk management and general commercial and corporate matters, including corporate governance, litigation and alternate dispute resolution.
Alex is active in the New York City metropolitan area legal community, having served on the Board of Directors of the National Employment Lawyers Association, New York Chapter. He frequently participates in speaking engagements and training seminars for clients, business partners and community groups and is regularly quoted in the media, including Law 360, regarding cutting-edge legal issues.
